CWDC was set up in 2005 to support the implementation of Every Child Matters, a new approach to the well-being of children and young people from birth to age 19.

The government's aim - through the Every Child Matters programme - is for every child to have the support they need.

The CWDC contracted us in 2005 to develop a dynamic website that would meet stringent public sector guidlines. Here are some of the main features, we don't claim these are in any way special but do feel they capture the spirit of our work;

Simple, useful, well engineered tools brought together in a finished product that delivers to its customers. All of us were proud of it.

Key Design Features

Content Management System

The Content Management System (CMS) was an absolute must. This website needs regular update and requires input from numerous departments. Training requirements are minimal with computer literate users feeling comfortable with the admin tools within hours of first use.

File Upload Tools

Onsite documentation is extensive, much in pdf format. A simple to use document upload and organisation tool was developed specially for the purpose and integrated into the CMS

Expandability

The site grew rapidly, as was expected. Our design was realised with this expansion in mind and all new sections and their content were easily accomodated.

Security

A secure document distribution system, developed specifically for the purpose was incorperated into a secure area of the site and used by the management team to distribute internal documentation.

Reliability

We have never had a significant problem, all data is backed up regularly and safely stored. careful attention to detail during the design and coding stages always improves later reliability. The same care and attention goes into every wesbite we build

Thank you for all the efforts to get the CWDC web design work completed on time. This is a really important development for CWDC and it's great that it's looking so good and shows we can deliver quality products on time.

Apologies if I have chased endlessly for reassurance that you could deliver, but this has been very important for CWDC and me personally! Looking forward to the next stage!
